Dr. David Harrison is Vice President of Clinical Care at Virta Health, where he leads the medical team and runs Virta’s network of clinical quality initiatives.
Dr. Harrison has worked in different areas of virtual care and telemedicine for over 10 years. He started his journey working for Best Doctors, a global remote expert medical opinion company, serving as Medical Director and Vice President of Clinical Quality. In this role, he scaled the physician team, developed a robust clinical quality infrastructure, and helped expand the company’s product suite. Following Best Doctors’ acquisition by Teladoc Health, the world’s largest telemedicine organization, Dr. Harrison became Teladoc’s Vice President of Physician Affairs, continuing his work of leading physician teams and delivering clinical quality at scale.
In addition to his work with Virta, Dr. Harrison maintains a busy internal medicine and pediatrics primary care practice at Massachusetts General Hospital. He is fluent in Vietnamese and enjoys caring for a large panel of Vietnamese patients in their native tongue.
Dr. Harrison earned his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Harvard College, his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, and completed his residency training in the Harvard Combined Medicine/Pediatrics Residency Program. He is dual-board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.
Dr. Harrison lives in Winchester, MA and loves nothing more than embarking on adventures with his wife and three children—including serving as coach for 4 seasons on his son’s Pop Warner football team.
