Amit Shah is the President of Virta Health, where he leads the company’s commercial, technology and care delivery teams in pursuit of Virta’s mission to reverse metabolic disease in 1 billion people. He is responsible for scaling Virta’s integrated care model—combining personalized nutrition, continuous remote care, and advanced technology—to deliver sustainable health outcomes at population scale.
Amit joined Virta in 2016 and has been instrumental in building the company’s operating foundation and care delivery model. Over his tenure at Virta, he led the development of Virta’s product and clinical programs, helping bring personalized, evidence-based care to hundreds of thousands of patients nationwide and establishing Virta as a leader in metabolic disease reversal.
Prior to Virta, Amit was an early team member at Paladina Health (a subsidiary of DaVita), where he served as Vice President of Operations and helped scale a national direct primary care model. Earlier in his career, he worked at McKinsey & Company and held operating roles at Amazon and Johnson & Johnson.
Amit holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BS and MS in Industrial and Operations Engineering from the University of Michigan.
He lives in Denver, Colorado with his wife, Bijal, and their two children. Outside of work, you'll find him running, road biking and trying an endless number of dad jokes on his family and friends.
