Have you ever wondered what the Virta logo represents? It’s not a sun or a gear, like some people think. In fact, it’s a spark, symbolizing our mission to reverse diabetes in 100M people while setting a new standard of care for people living with a metabolic condition. Together with the name “Virta” (a Finnish word meaning “stream” or “flow”), the Spark represents the energy that comes from reversing your condition, and recapturing the life you deserve.

Over the years, we’ve proudly watched how Virta Members have embraced the Spark and made it a symbol of their lives. People have inked themselves with Spark tattoos, created Spark jewelry, sported Spark clothing, and more. Whether that’s walking just a little bit further than yesterday, keeping up with their grandkids, or fully reversing their diagnosis and getting off medications, it reminds our members of their accomplishments, big and small.

Today, you may have noticed that Virta looks just a little bit different. We also sound different, now further emphasizing the work we have already been doing in prediabetes and weight loss alongside type 2 diabetes reversal. The Spark and what it represents, though, remains. No matter what conditions we treat, Virta’s mission will always be the same—to help people reset expectations, transform their life, and rediscover their Spark.
